On 8 December 2024 Agri Vision Foundation (NPC) returned to Paarl Boys Primary School for a follow up training course for the grade 3’s. Earlier in 2024 Agri Vision trained the boys on how to start a garden from nothing using the ‘’Farming God’s Way’’ methods and principles. The learners started their own school garden and cared for it on a daily basis. They also had the privilege to take seedlings home and start their own backyard gardens. They did so diligently and produced their own vegetables at home with various degrees of success.

With our return to the school, we were pleasantly surprised to see that some of the boys brought vegetables to school, grown by themselves for us to admire and taste. They were fascinated to learn more about growing seedlings and we recapped how to care for the plants from seed to harvest.  The top 3 performing learner farmers from the previous visit received prizes for their great effort and all of them took seedlings home again to replant in their home gardens.

Agri Vision and PBPS will be continuing this collaboration, and we are so fortunate to see these learners improving their farming skills. The teachers and body corporate want to expand our involvement, and we will return to PBPS in 2025 to continue our partnership and build into the lives of these young children   as well as to take their school garden to the next level.

Through our agricultural training we aspire to help train young leaders and awaken entrepreneurial skills in the children.  We are also building long-term relationships with this community.
