Greendoor, Jamestown, Stellenbosch June 2025

Greendoor, a registered NPO (070-664), is a small learning centre for schoolgirls, situated in Jamestown just outside of Stellenbosch. For the past 11 years, it has served as an aftercare centre, currently hosting 15 girls every weekday, providing them with academic assistance, skills development and lunch. Greendoor also contributes to creating local employment, in two ways. Firstly, Greendoor employs as tutors some of the girls who formerly attended the centre during their school years, offering them work experience and CV-building opportunities. Secondly, girls who formerly attended the centre and obtained skills there (such as knitting or nailcare skills) are offered the opportunity to provide their services at Greendoor to outside clients, whom Greendoor assists in recruiting.

In June of 2025, AgriVision donated previously loved clothes to Greendoor for their thrift shop. Greendoor regularly participates in Jamestown’s street market, using their thrift shop to generate a sustainable income. In addition, AgriVision made a substantial financial contribution to Greendoor, which allowed the center to replace their broken geyser.
